About The Why of Words

Every word you speak has a secret history -- a story nobody told you, a journey across centuries and continents that ended up in your mouth this morning without you knowing how it got there.

The Why of Words is a daily podcast that explores one word or phrase per episode in two minutes or less. Where did it come from? What did it used to mean? How did it end up meaning what it means today?

The Host

The show is created and curated by Danny -- a Denver-based creative who runs two businesses (a photography studio and a vinyl jazz bar in Brooklyn) and has a lifelong obsession with why words are the way they are.

How It's Made

The Why of Words is produced with the help of AI. Each episode is researched and scripted using AI tools with Danny selecting the words, shaping the editorial direction, reviewing the content, and overseeing the quality of every episode.

We believe in transparency: AI is a production tool that makes daily publishing possible at a quality level a solo creator couldn't sustain alone. The curiosity, the curation, and the creative vision are human.
